Family, friends, classmates, and the Acton, Massachusetts, community are mourning the heartbreaking passing of Justin Hanley, who died on July 13, 2026, at the age of 16. Though his life was far too short, Justin is being remembered for his unwavering faith, infectious enthusiasm, and compassionate spirit that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Born on February 11, 2010, in Boston, Justin was the beloved son of Bill and Ann-Marie Hanley and the cherished younger brother of Jacob and Will. He attended Lexington Christian Academy, where he thrived in a Christ-centered environment that strengthened both his character and his deep Christian faith.
Justin embraced life with passion and determination. Basketball was one of his greatest loves, and he devoted countless hours to improving his game while cheering on his favorite Boston sports teams alongside his family. He also enjoyed riding dirt bikes and ATVs, boating and tubing at the family lake house in New Hampshire, exploring amusement parks, and recently discovered a passion for bodybuilding, inspiring others with his discipline and perseverance.
His happiest moments, however, were spent with family. Whether playing video games with his brothers, enjoying his favorite homemade meals, or gathering with relatives during summer vacations, Justin treasured every opportunity to create lasting memories with those he loved.
At the center of Justin’s life was his faith in Jesus Christ. His favorite Bible verse, Philippians 4:13, reflected his outlook on life and inspired the courage and determination with which he faced every challenge. He faithfully served at Mount Hope Christian Center and was deeply loved by his church family.
Justin is survived by his parents, brothers, grandmother, extended family, and many dear friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 23 at Crossroads Community Church in Boxborough, Massachusetts.
Justin Hanley’s legacy of faith, kindness, perseverance, and joyful living will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
